More Mild Weather in Store for Berkley, Huntington Woods

More unseasonably mild weather is in store for Berkley and Huntington Woods, but residents have mixed feelings about the lack of snow so far this winter.

On Friday, the high was near 50 degrees and, in combination with abundant sunshine, drew golfers onto the links at in Huntington Woods and bikers onto the roads in their spandex shorts.

However, sentiments were mixed on the Berkley Patch Facebook page, where a post about the relatively warm January weather drew three "Likes" and comments including these:

  • Christine Jarnick Birac: It's lovely! But, I hope it doesn't mean we'll have a cold summer, though.
  • Eric N Susan Murrell: we miss the snow.
  • Christine Jarnick Birac: Same here ... my skis are lonely this winter!

So, will snow-lovers catch a break any time soon? Not according to the National Weather Service, which predicts mostly sunny skies and a high of 40 degrees Saturday. Sunday is expected to be mostly cloudy with a high of 36 degrees, according to the forecasting agency.

The start of the week will bring more nice weather with a high near 39 degrees and partly sunny skies Monday and a high near 45 and mostly sunny skies Tuesday, according to the NWS.
