Huntington Woods Ranked as No. 10 'Best Place to Live for Suburbanites' in United States

A Coldwell Banker Real Estate survey of 11,000 suburbs nationwide also says the city is No. 2 in Michigan; Berkley ranks No. 12 in the state.

Coldwell Banker Real Estate has ranked Huntington Woods as the No. 10 "Best Place to Live for Suburbanites" out of 11,000 suburbs surveyed nationwide.

The rankings are based on attributes including access to amenities, proximity to good schools, traffic conditions and safety, according to Coldwell Banker. Huntington Woods scored the No. 2 spot, behind East Grand Rapids, among Michigan communities.

"This Detroit suburb, commonly known as the 'City of Homes,' was modeled after Huntingdon, England, which still shows the architecture of its historic homes," reads a press release from Coldwell Banker. "Other unique features include the Rackham Golf Course, a public course designed by legendary course designer Donald Ross, and the Detroit Zoo."

The median sale price of a home in Huntington Woods during the previous year was $222,785, according to Coldwell Banker.

Rounding out the top five communities in Michigan were Orchard Lake Village, at No. 3, Grosse Pointe Farms at No. 4 and Beverly Hills at No. 5.

Berkley was ranked as the No. 12 community in Michigan. The median sale price of a home in the city during the previous year was $93,725, Coldwell Banker reports.
