It was busy this week in Berkley and Huntington Woods, so we'd like to catch you up on what's new in the neighborhood. Here are some of the highlights.

The husband-and-wife coaching team and pair of Berkley grads is leaving because Todd Seidl has taken a position as a chief watch commander with the U.S. Customs and Border Protection in Reston, VA – about 20 miles outside of Washington, DC. He also ran the district’s co-ed middle school swim program that competes in the winter. “It’s been hard,” Ashley Seidl said. “It’s definitely emotional.”
  • Our weekly feature served up a slew of deals Wednesday, including discounts on dinner, windows and clothes. If you know of any great savings around town, !
  • in a showdown with Ferndale for second place in the Oakland Athletic Association Blue division. Berkley squandered an early lead and dropped to third place with a 51-44 loss on the road.
  • On Friday, we reviewed the Panini Press in Berkley. Restaurant critic Dorothy Hernandez said the comfy, budget-friendly sandwich shop, which puts an emphasis on local food, is her latest addiction.
