Berkley Community Picnic Offers Free Lunch, Games, Prizes

The event will take place 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday at Community Park.

The free and family friendly Berkley Community Picnic will be held from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday at .

There will be a splash zone with a water hydrant spraying water on the kids; family picnic games such as potato sack races and tug of war; a dunk tank with city officials and volunteers ready to get soaked; free lunch including hot dogs, chips watermelon and drinks; and a horseshoe tournament and clinic with prizes.

"It is sure to be a great day in Berkley with lots to do for the whole family!" Berkley Parks & Recreation Director Tom Colwell wrote in an email to Berkley Patch this week. "We hope to see you at community park and take advantage of the offerings."

Community members are encouraged to bring their own blankets or lawn chair. Those who walk or ride a bike will receive a free raffle ticket.
