Custom Camaro Turns Heads in Berkley

The 2011 Camaro SS cost $268,000 to create and includes 32-inch wheels, a motorized dashboard, five televisions and 48 speakers.

Woodward Dream Cruise fans whipped out their cameras and posed for photos in front of the chromed-out, custom-built Camaro on display Saturday in Berkley.

The fully drivable 2011 Camaro SS cost $268,000 to create and includes 32-inch wheels, a motorized dashboard, a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 engine, 703 rear horse power, five televisions and 48 speakers, co-creator Myles Ross of Shelby Township said.

"You can't even go to the gas station," because of how many people ooh and ahh over the car, he said. "It's a process. It takes 45 minutes. You'll never see another one like it ever."

Fans are in luck: The Camaro is for sale at the bargain price of $120,000, Ross said. Co-creator John Martin of Detroit appealed to potential buyers' cultured side Saturday.

"Think of it like this: It's a rolling piece of art," he said. "It's no longer just a car."
