Will Your Teen Be Looking for a Summer Job?
Oakland County Parks will accept applications during a 14-day window in February for seasonal employees.
Oakland County Parks and Recreation has announced it will only accept applications for 2013 summer seasonal employment from Feb. 11 to Feb. 25.
Seasonal employees work varied shifts, including weekends, evenings and holidays, from Memorial Day through Labor Day. These positions and others will be available:
Lifeguard ($9.47 –$10.17 per hour)

Ensure guest safety at either water parks or beaches by supervising swimming areas, enforcing rules, performing first aid and responding to emergency situations. Lifeguards are trained by Oakland County Parks and Recreation and must participate in regular in-service training to maintain the highest level of lifeguard skills.

Program Leader ($9.40 - $10.14 per hour)
Provide recreational activities for park visitors of all ages. Work in a team setting to plan, implement and evaluate programs for specialized program areas and populations, mobile recreation and special events. Assists in planning and implementing outdoor activities and programs. Heavy lifting may be required. Program Leaders travel in park vehicles from Waterford Oaks to various communities to set up units and conduct activities.
Requirements:
- Must be at least 16 years old.
- Must have at least three months of experience in youth or adult leadership.
- Must be willing to work weekends, evenings and holidays.
