New Hot Dog Restaurant Coming to Berkley

An old house on Coolidge has been transformed into 'Atomic Dawg', a new diner that is opening in Berkley.

You will soon be able to “get your hot dogs” in Berkley.

A new hot dog joint is set to open at 2705 Coolidge in a renovated house that was gutted to create the new diner.

The restaurant will be called Atomic Dawg* and its owner, Joel Bacow*, applied for his business license back in July 2011 and was granted his permits in October 2011, according to Berkley’s City Planner Amy Vansen.

“From what I’ve been told it’s going to be like a Nathan’s Famous hot dogs,” she explained.

No opening date has been announced yet, Vansen said.

*The correct spelling of the restaurant is Atomic "Dawg" not "Dog," and Joel's last name is Bacow.
