Goin' Postal Opens Royal Oak Location

A new packaging and shipping store has opened in Royal Oak in time for the holidays.

Goin' Postal, owned by Suzanne Weinberg of Royal Oak, has opened at 30270 Woodward Ave.

The national franchise, which has over 300 locations nationwide — including eight other Michigan locations — offers USPS, FedEx, DHL, stamps, color copying, notary, faxing, packaging, packaging supplies, laminating, passport photos, binding and greeting cards.

"What sets us apart is that we offer a variety of shipping options," said Weinberg. "When a customer comes in, we weigh and measure their package. Then using proprietary software, we put the information into our system and come up with the best price options."

Most customers are usually searching for the least expensive option, but occasionally time is of the essence. When that's the case, Goin' Postal can compare timing options between USPS, FedEx and DHL.

Shipping a lamp to Grandma?

"We also provide packaging services at no additional charge," Weinberg said. 

Customers only have to pay for boxes and packaging materials.

"We'll figure out the safest way for your package to get to its destination."

Goin' Postal also sells just the boxes and other shipping and office supplies.

Love QVC and Internet shopping?

You can also rent a mailbox at the shipping store.

"Your mailbox will have a address, not PO box number, but a real address," Weinberg said. "We can accept a package and sign for it for you. We'll even text or email you when it arrives. We offer security and we can prevent your package from sitting on the porch all day in bad weather."

Weinberg said they'll even forward mail to Florida snowbirds who use the mailbox service.

"We strive to be your friendly neighborhood shipping store," she said. 

Smiles, like the packaging service, are also free.
