Gas Prices Ease Up, Fall Below $4 a Gallon

The average cost of a gallon of unleaded gasoline in Michigan is $3.91, according to AAA Michigan.

Metro Detroit motorists are feeling a very slight relief at the pump today as gasoline prices dropped 13 cents over the weekend. According to AAA's fuel report, gasoline is running at an average of $3.91 per gallon Monday.

Gas prices still flirt with the $4 mark, but this time last year, a gallon of gas was just 5 cents less with an average of $3.86.

Around Berkley and Huntington Woods, motorists can find gasoline between around $3.85-$3.99.

The price at the BP at Coolidge Highway and Catalpa Drive in Berkley is one of the lowest in the city, at $3.93 according to gasbuddy.com. The Henley Gas & Service station at 11 Mile and Henley is just slightly higher, at $3.95.

The BP at Woodward Avenue and Lincoln is up to $3.99, but prices drop at nearby gas stations in bordering cities, such as the Oak Park Speedway on Coolidge at $3.85 and the RKA Crooks on Crooks Road in Royal Oak at $3.86.
