Fuel Report: Local Gas Prices Down Slightly This Week

Gas prices around the state average out at about $3.83 and local stations are as low as $3.73.

If you are grumbling about the high price of gas as you fill up your tank this week, take heart in knowing that prices in Berkley and Huntington Woods are generally below the state and national averages.

Fuel prices around Michigan have evened out with the national average this week, according to AAA's fuel report.

As of Monday morning, the average price of a gallon of unleaded gasoline is $3.83 in Michigan, just a penny under the national average of $3.82. Gas prices are down from $3.93 last month and a few cents below last week's average of $3.85.

Around Berkley and Huntington Woods, motorists can find low gas prices around $3.73 up to $3.84.

The BP at Coolidge Highway and Catalpa Drive, gas is $3.73 per gallon. Sunoco at Coolidge and 12 Mile is $3.75 and the  in Berkley is up to $3.84, according to gasbuddy.com.

The BP at Woodward Avenue and Lincoln is at $3.90, according to the Berkley-Huntington Woods Commute page. Prices drop at nearby gas stations in bordering cities, such as the Oak Park.

The Oak Petro Mart on West Nine Mile in Oak Park appears to be the lowest around at $3.70 for a gallon of unleaded gasoline.
