UPDATED: 'Autoweek's Vinsetta Garage' Premieres

The historic property on Woodward Avenue in Berkley, which is to reopen as a restaurant in 2012, serves as the show's namesake.

The first of 13 episodes of premiered at 8:30 Tuesday night on the Discovery Channel's Velocity Network.

The episode featured a lively discussion about what makes someone a car person; a visit with the Corvette Cruisers of Atlanta; a peek inside Auto Week's fantasy camp in Dearborn; interviews with Ford Motor Co. Vice President of Global Marketing Jim Farley Jr., General Motors North America President Mark Reuss and President and CEO of SRT brand at Chrylser Ralph Gilles; and more.

Co-hosts Courtney Hansen and Autoweek Editorial Director Dutch Mandel also showed off Detroit in its best light by cruising Belle Isle in a 1966 E-Type Jaguar under warmer, sunnier skies.

The historic Vinsetta Garage property on Woodward Avenue in Berkley that serves as the show's namesake is co-owned by KC Crain, who is vice president and publisher of the Detroit-based automotive news and lifestyle magazine Autoweek.

"Autoweek’s Vinsetta Garage unleashes our passion for the automobile and the fervor that fuels us," reads the show's website. "Thirty minutes of unadulterated car enthusiasm served hot off the manifold and torn from Autoweek’s editorial pages – covering everything from design to driving, customization, cooking and cruisin’, travel, technology and more."

Crain's business partner and Vinsetta Garage co-owner Curt Catallo that the show's namesake is expected to reopen as a restaurant during the first quarter of 2012.

Catallo said Vinsetta Garage's dishes will be tested out at his other two restaurants – the Clarkston Union Bar & Kitchen and the Union Woodshop, both in Clarkston.

In August, being served at Vinsetta Garage.
