There will also be a 12-foot salad bar and 6-foot dessert table.

“There’s no reservations required, but we sell out each year,” Sawyer said. O’Mara’s has a strategy down pat to eliminate long lines, seating for 90 minutes each and allowing 32 new guests to be seated each half hour, he explained.

If you’re looking for a local family-style dinner with a Mother’s Day discount, check out . The fresh Mediterranean grill and catering business is offering 10 percent off any order that is placed before Monday.

Manager Sam Gulli said the family tray option is particularly suitable for a family dinner on such a special occasion.

“It serves eight-12 people and has almost everything someone would want to have under one item,” he said.

Mr. Kabob’s family tray comes with a variety of meat options on a bed of rice (including kabobs, shawarma and kafta), pita with garlic sauce and hummus, and fattoush or any order of salad. The regular price is $74.99 (not factoring in the Mother’s Day discount).

For smaller groups, Gulli said the family tray comes in a half order for $39.99, which feeds up to five people. One of the newest items on the menu is a vegetarian tray that also feeds up to five people and costs $24.99.

Mr. Kabob’s is open noon-8 p.m. and Gulli recommends putting in an order early. “Our orders book really quickly, especially on Mother’s Day, it’s such a busy day. Mothers aren’t cooking so everyone is trying to get their orders in.”
