24 Seconds is Readers' Choice for Sports Watching in Berkley, Huntington Woods

If you are looking for a place in town to watch a big sports game, in Berkley is our readers' choice.

In our weekly quest to find the best of the best in Berkley and Huntington Woods, we've asked about such topics as , , ,  and . This week, with March Madness on the brain, we asked for . 24 Seconds was the runaway winner, with 71 percent of the 21 votes cast in our week poll.

With 17 TVs mounted around the place, including two projector screens, bartender and waitress Regina Brownstein says 24 Seconds is popular because it appeals to sports fans of all kinds who can catch just about any game on.

Brownstein said big business for Thursday night’s MSU-Louisvile game was just a small sample of what’s to come for the rest of March Madness. “It was very busy. Always is," Brownstein said. "Especially when State plays, we have a really good crowd.”

Local brothers Dave and Jerry Johnson like to grab lunch at 24 Seconds and catch up on some sports by watching highlights on ESPN. The bar is perfect for sports and even for locals to get in on parade action, Dave Johnson said.

“This is a good place to watch the cruise from. We come here for that, too,” he said.

Dave Johnson also explained they’ll be back at 24 Seconds on April 5 to hop on the shuttle that goes from the bar to Comerica Park for the opening game of the Detroit Tigers' season.
