Tri-County Educational Center Hosts Enrollment Fair, WJLB Morning Show

Tri-County Educational Center (TCEC), a Berkley School District alternative high school program, is holding its first Enrollment Fair Friday, August 16th from 6 am – 2 pm, at 16299 Mt. Vernon, Southfield, MI. Wake-up early and join Coco, Foolish and Mr. Chase and the entire WJLB Morning Show broadcasting live at TCEC starting at 6 am. WJLB will be on campus until 10 am, the Enrollment Fair continues until 2 pm with on-site enrollment, workshops, crafts and free food. Teachers and staff will be on hand to enroll students looking to finish their high school career.

The following community groups will be at the Enrollment Fair as TCEC community partners committed to developing the whole student. These groups will also provide art projects, Zumba and yoga demonstrations, and poetry presentations during the Enrollment Fair:

  • The WISDOM INSTITUTE, a non-profit organization that promotes social entrepreneurship, supports women's growth and development through empowerment strategies and encouraging healthy lifestyles.
  • The Power of Girlhood, a program designed to support and encourage the growth of self-esteem and agency in young women.
  • How Does Your Garden Grow, an arts-based program that creates a safe and nurturing space for healthy, productive dialogue from which participants gain new insights.
  • Mother Wit, an inter-generational motivation program that encourages women to be part of a business collective.

To enroll, students need to bring school transcripts, one form of identification, shot records, and birth certificate as well as an adult if under 18.
