Norup Middle School Advanced Orchestra Ensemble Scores 1st Division Rating for 10th Consecutive Year

Under the director of John Robertson, the Norup International Middle School Advanced Orchestra Ensemble earned a first divison rating for the 10th year in a row.

The band and orchestra at Norup International Middle School participated in the Michigan School Band & Orchestra (MSBOA) Middle School festival last weekend.

Congratulations to the Norup Advanced Orchestra Ensemble for earning a First-Division rating.

This is the 10th consecutive year that the orchestra has earned a '1' at the district level and they will once again continue to the state-level and compete with other top scoring schools from around Michigan.

"I was very excited to see how the entire class came together to work for this," says director John Robertson. "The students were very serious about not only scoring well but keeping up our tradition of excellent results."

The 7th grade band, under the direction of Alan Posner, also received a ‘1’ and the 8th grade band received a second division rating. Congratulations are also in order for Posner, who was chosen Educator of the Year at Berkley High School. This is Posner’s second year in the Berkley School District.
