Norup International Band and Orchestra students score big at Districts

Norup International Middle School band and orchestra students receive high rating at MSBOA festival; BHS Jazz Ensemble receives First Division rating.

On Saturday, April 13th, 26 Norup International band & orchestra students traveled to Waldon Middle School in Lake Orion to compete in MSBOA's District 4 Middle School Solo and Ensemble.

 Receiving a Second Division rating for an ensemble performance was Alana Doctoroff, Ella Lipman, Izzy Marchione, Katy Wolberg, Jacob Hook, Langston Howley, Michael Smith, Andrew Finelli, Nicholas Cheung, and Andrew Schildcrout.

Receiving a Second Division rating for a solo performance was Alana Doctoroff.

Receiving a First Division rating for an ensemble performance was Timor Betzer, Rebecca Driker-Ohren, and Amelia Gross.

 Receiving a First Division rating for a solo performance was Basma Adel, Timor Betzer, Grace Hermann, Alyssa Zino (all A's), Emily Finkelstein (all A's), and Aiden Bergsman (Perfect sheet), Jurnee Jordan (all A's), Olivia Nave, Maryam Adel, Rebecca Driker-Ohren, Brendan Radtke, Zack Schwartz, and Adena Collens.

 In addition, the Berkley High School Jazz Ensemble achieved the highest First Division rating at the MYAF Jazz Festival, which took place late March at Royal Oak High School. BHS freshman Ryan Schildcrout received an Honorable Mention for his outstanding performance at the 2013 State Jazz Festival.
