BHS orchestra students perform community concerts

BHS orchestra students present community concerts during Winter break.

It may be Winter break in the Berkley School District, but for a group of Berkley High School orchestra students, it is performance week. On Sunday, Feb. 17, members of Tri-M, a music honor society, performed at Prentis Apartments in Oak Park. The orchestra sextet consisted of Jennifer Alpert, Ben Sheaves, Eliisa Strand, Lauren Cohen, Ella Schodowski, and Ashley Strand. Solo performances included Matt Raisky on piano, Olivia Wood, flute, Robin Collins, vocal solo, and Phil Ring, saxophone solo.

An enthusiastic audience greeted students at the JVS Brown Center in Southfield on Tuesday, Feb 19 where the BHS Chamber Ensemble performed. Students included Jennifer Alpert, Eliisa Strand, Rose Turner and Ashley Strand.

This Thursday, Feb 21 a Chamber Ensemble with Jennifer Alpert, Ayumi Perez, Lauren Cohen and Matt Raisky will perform at the JVS MS Center in Southfield.
