Berkley School District musicians selected for All State bands

Zachary Schildcrout, a Berkley High School junior, and Emily Finkelstein, a student at Norup International School performed in the MSBOA All State ensembles last weekend at the Michigan Music Conference in Grand Rapids. 

Zachary was in the 17-member High School All State Jazz Ensemble as the third chair trumpet. Emily, who plays the flute, was in the middle school All State Band. 

BHS and Norup Band director Alan Posner and Anderson Middle School orchestra director Pam Kilbride attended the conference, which included workshops for music educators. Kilbride also performed in the teachers’ orchestra.
