BHS Marching Band presents the music of Motown this Friday

While residents of Berkley, Oak Park and Huntington Woods will be hearing the Berkley High School Marching Band practice all this week, they’ll have a chance to watch this year’s show on Friday, August 16 at 11:30 a.m. at Hurley Field in Berkley.

Residents, family and friends are invited to preview Motown and the music of Detroit, which is this year’s theme for the 120-member marching band.

“This is the largest Berkley High School March Band in recent history, and I’m pleased that there is also a color guard this year to add a visual interpretation,” says BHS Band Director Alan Posner.

All games are at 7 p.m.  The BHS Marching Band will also be featured at several invitationals this fall.

Friday, August 16 is also the Berkley Instrumental Boosters fundraiser at Olga’s of Lathrup Village. Order out or dine-in at the Lathrup Village (Southfield and 12 Mile) Olga’s location only (it’s Dream Cruise weekend, remember!). Olga’s will donate a percentage to the band. A flyer is required and is available on the Olga’s website, on the Berkley Instrumental Boosters website, (www.berkleyinstrumentalboosters.weebly.com) or print below.
