Weekend Countdown: Rust Belt Market Offers Extended Holiday Hours

Find gifts handmade by local artists at the Ferndale venue, which will be open Fridays beginning today.

It's easy to find great gifts around town this weekend and some local venues are opening their doors especially for holiday shoppers.

Why go: Typically open just Saturdays and Sundays, Rust Belt will open its doors Friday evenings beginning today for holiday shoppers. Rust Belt will offer entertainment and drinks for Black Friday on Nov. 25, when it will be open noon until 10 p.m. A party will be held from 6-10 p.m. Dec. 9, complete with a temporary liquor license, DJ, raffles and bands, according to the venue's website. The Ferndale market supports local artists as they launch start-ups and operate small businesses.
