Explore Huntington Woods Inside|Out Artworks, Locations

Reproductions of five masterpieces from the Detroit Institute of Arts will be displayed this summer throughout the city.

Reproductions of five artworks from the Detroit Institute of Arts will be displayed this summer throughout Huntington Woods as part of the fourth annual Inside|Out program.

The city is among 25 Metro area communities, including Berkley, that will feature Inside|Out outdoor art installations this year.

Huntington Woods Public Library Director Anne Hage, who applied for the program on behalf of the city, said the DIA has approved the following installation sites and works of art.

  • Huntington Woods Public Library: "Reading the Story of Oenone" by Francis Davis Millet
  • Gordon L. Hassig Senior Park: "A Woman" by Amedeo Modigliani
  • Scotia Park: "Savoy Ballroom" by Reginald Marsh
  • Rackham Golf Course clubhouse: "Watson and the Shark" by John Singleton Copley
  • Mary Kay Davis Park: "The Recitation" by Thomas Dewing

"The installation dates are not confirmed, but the works go up the last two weeks of June, with the goal of having everything up by July Fourth" Hage said.
