Yes, There is a Reason to Celebrate Winter: Berkley WinterFest 2014

There's lots to love about winter at Berkley WinterFest Saturday at the Community Center Complex.

The Arctic weather aside, there’s plenty about winter to celebrate – especially this coming Saturday, when Berkley Parks & Recreation presents Winterfest 2014.

The free family-friendly fun gets under way at noon. All activities will be held at the Berkley Community Center Complex, 2300 Robina Ave.

  • Children’s Crafts
  • Cookie Decorating
  • Bon Fire With S’mores
  • Turkey Bowling
  • Ice Sculptures
  • Carnival Games
  • Broomball
  • Kickball
  • Open Skating
  • Berkley Bruins Hockey
  • Cake Walk
  • Berkley Youth Hockey Activities (On Ice - Learn to Play; Off Ice - Shooting Targets)

Before the games and other activities get started at noon, the Berkley Youth Hockey Association is sponsoring a “Try Hockey for Free Day” from 9-11:30 a.m. for children ages 4-10 who would like to try skating and experience the game of hockey.

There’s no fee to take part.

Coaches, players and parents from Berkley Youth Hockey and Berkley High School hockey will be on hand to help equip kids and teach them to play the game.  Experienced skaters may also attend if they have an interest in learning hockey.
