Viewfinder: Berkley Dads' Club Softball Squad Vanquishes City Hall Team

The 21-10 score doesn't reflect the sense of community that hummed at Community Field #3 on a balmy Wednesday evening ahead of Berkley Days.

Dirt was kicked, trash was talked and a good time was had by all Wednesday evening during the annual Berkley City Hall vs. Dads' Club softball game.

The team soundly defeated the City Hall squad, 21-10 in seven innings.

However, as Councilman Phil O'Dwyer pointed out, the game created a feeling of community that made everyone a winner. The turnout was so good this year that the City Hall team sent three extra players to join the Dads' Club bench, he said. Members of the  as well as Oakland County Treasurer Andy Meisner, Judge Jamie Wittenberg, Taste of Berkley organizer Alan Kideckel and others also joined in the fun.
