Huntington Woods Men’s Club Service Auction Raises Record $135,000

More than 750 people attended the sold-out event at the Recreation Center that included performances by Berkley School District orchestra students and the Berkley High School drum line.

(The 2013) Huntington Woods Men’s Club Service Auction generated over $135,000, the highest revenue in the annual event’s 32 year history. Scott Kube, club president, expects net proceeds to also set a record when final bills are tabulated and paid in a few weeks. The Friends of Burton Community Park will receive at Burton Elementary School.

People paid $15 each to attend the sold-out auction at the HW Rec Center. The four hour, open house style event was attended by 750+ people who enjoyed food and beverages donated from area restaurants.

Kube said, “We’re happy for the kids and our community that will benefit from our auction. This super event could not happen without the wonderful generosity of so many people like the club’s members, (and) the businesses and people who donated gifts or bought ads. We especially want to thank those folks who attended the auction or bid online. It looks like they followed our advice to bid early, bid often and bid high!”
