Heat Advisory in Effect for Oakland County

Temps will near 100 degrees today in southeast Michigan.

heat advisory has been issued for Macomb, Oakland and Wayne counties from 10 a.m. Tuesday until late Wednesday night.

Temperatures this afternoon will range from 95 to 99 degrees, and will be highest in the most urban areas of Metro Detroit. 

Low temperatures tonight will drop to 72 to 76 degrees, with the warmest readings in and near the city of Detroit, reports the National Weather Service.

Heat exhaustion, heat stroke, muscle cramps and sunburns are possible hazards in this weather.

The National Weather Service advises people to drink plenty of fluids, stay in air conditioning and out of the sun and to check on relatives and neighbors.

The service also warns people to be extra vigilant about making sure children and pets are not left unattended in cars, in these or any circumstances.
