Book Talk and Reception with Author Karen Tintori Katz at Congregation Beth Shalom

The Sisterhood of Congregation Beth Shalom welcomes author Karen Tintori Katz for a book talk Feb. 6 at 7 p.m.  This event will take place at the Synagogue and will be followed by a dessert reception and book signing.

 

Katz, who writes under her maiden name of Tintori, is the best-selling author of both fiction and nonfiction.  Her works include The Illumination, The Book of Names, Unto the Daughters, and Trapped: The 1909 Cherry Mine Disaster.  As part of her discussion, Karen will discuss the background and the process of writing all of her books.

Tickets for the event are $5 in advance and $6 at the door.   To register, please mail your check made payable to Sisterhood of Beth Shalom, with your name, address, phone number and email address to the Sisterhood of Congregation Beth Shalom, 14601 Lincoln Street, Oak Park, MI 48237-1333.

Hard-cover editions of Unto the Daughters and The Illumination as well as paperback copies of Trapped and Unto the Daughters are available for purchase at the synagogue or can be ordered by mail.  Hard-cover editions are $24.95 and paperbacks are $14.95. Those interested in receiving a book to pick up at the book talk should place their orders by Feb. 1.   To order a book in advance, include the name of the book and the quantity desired along with your contact information, and include the payment with your check.
