How long owned: “Since 1969. I bought it when I came out of the service and drove it until 1975. I treated it like a classic then and put it in a garage. In 1998, I started working on it and finished in 2007."
Why this car? “It was the first real car I bought for myself. My dad had an old station wagon that I shared with my brother, but this was different. It was all mine.”
What’s special about Woodward and the Dream Cruise? “This is when I can reminisce about driving this car. Just cruising Woodward on weekday and Friday evenings, up to Ted’s (a former drive-in restaurant in Bloomfield Hills) and back with my brother. It was just fun.”
Correction: The Camaro is a 1967 model.
