Coolidge Construction Update: Underground Work Taken Care of

Here's your weekly update on the Huntington Woods road work under way until September.

Construction work to repave the northbound lane of Coolidge Highway in Huntington Woods is two weeks in and moving steadily at this point.

, Huntington Woods City Manager Alex Allie said the lane is totally closed off now and the construction is in the demolition phase.

“They got all the asphalt off of it and now the concrete is coming out,” he explained.

So far, the work has been nearly all underground and most recently, the water main was delivered.

“The gas line is already completed, the water mains will be put in then, and the storm sewer has been completed,” Allie added.

The project is expected to be completed by mid-September and .

With storms expected this week, according to the National Weather Service, the project could run into delays. Allie said rainy weather is the biggest threat to repaving the lane.
