2013 Calendar Showcases Beauty of Huntington Woods

Sales proceeds will benefit the Community Fund, which assists with projects throughout the city.

A Huntington Woods photographer who has chronicled the city's beauty for nearly 40 years has compiled a 2013 calendar that captures the magic of foggy streets, pink blossoms, blazing leaves, sparkling branches encased in ice and quiet moments shared between neighbors.

"The Beauty of Huntington Woods 2013 Calendar: A Huntington Woods Portrait by Kathlyn Rosenthal" is available for purchase at City Hall, the Huntington Woods Public Library and the Huntington Woods Recreation Center. Proceeds will benefit the Community Fund, which assists with projects throughout the city such as tree plantings and the Department of Public Works mural, City Manager Alex Allie said.

Each calendar cost the city approximately $2.80 to print, and buyers are asked to make a minimum donation of $5, Allie said.

"For five bucks, you can't find a nicer calendar," he said, adding that it makes a great gift.

"I just thought it would be an artistic way to show off the city. I'm thrilled that a lot of people like it," Rosenthal said of the calendar, which is available while supplies last.
