The high school is the district's crown jewel—its students' success is seen as the culmination of their K-12 education. Named by Newsweek magazine as one of the nation's best high schools, BHS is also renowned for its football team, choir and high college acceptance rate. (Student/faculty statistics are from the 2009-2010 school year.)

There are 20+ additional student performers in "the pit" from the BHS Bands and Orchestras under the direction of Alan Posner along with piano accompanist David Karle. Hard to have a musical without instruments. Just wanted to make sure this group receives the credit the are due for their long rehearsals and steady comittment to the show!

Having live musicians in the pit is a real treat, so thanks to those students for their contributions! Even many Broadway productions don't use live musicians anymore. Shame, Shame! Congrats to BHS and its boosters for supporting the arts!

Make sure to visit "the pit" during intermission and get up close a personal with these student performers.
