Preview: Berkley City Council to Consider Taxes, Business Requests, Dream Cruise and More

The Berkley City Council meets tonight to consider a variety of business-related requests, establish a Woodward Dream Cruise committee, authorize collecting summer taxes and more.

City Council meets at 7 p.m. at City Hall. Following are highlights from the agenda:

  • A resolution in support of the partnership between the cities of Berkley, Ferndale, Huntington Woods, Pleasant Ridge and Royal Oak to accept a grant for the Woodward 5 Sustainability Partnership.
  • Establishing an "Ad Hoc Woodward Dream Cruise Committee"  to coordinate the 2012 Dream Cruise event for Berkley.
  • Blarney Stone Pub’s request for approval of outdoor alcohol sales on St. Patrick’s Day.
  • A resolution recommending the transfer of  all stock in 2010 Class C licensed business with dance permit at Hartfield Lanes from the late Harry E. Hartfield to his son and daughter-in-law Jeffery and Linda Hartfield.
  • Special Use Approval request from Nicole Hetes to establish a veterinary office use at 1722 11 Mile Rd. within the Office District.
  • Authorizing the collect the 2012 summer property tax levy for the Berkley School District.
  • Approval of budget amendments to fiscal year 2011-12.
  • Designating May 12-20 as Berkley Days.
