UPDATE: Morrissey Diagnosed with Bleeding Ulcer

The English rocker, who was treated at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, is expected to make a full recovery.

Update: Following hospital treatment at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Morrissey has been diagnosed with a bleeding ulcer, according to Lauren Papapietro, Morrissey's publicist.

"Morrissey is expected to make a full recovery and thanks everyone concerned for their support during this time," Papapietro said in an email to Royal Oak Patch Monday morning. "Morrissey apologizes greatly for any and all inconvenience and looks forward to continuing his US tour."

The English rocker was forced to reschedule upcoming engagements in Asheville, NC, Nashville, TN, Atlanta, GA, Lawrence, KS, Clear Lake, IA and Lincoln, NE, Papapietro said. The tour will resume in Las Vegas on Saturday, Feb. 9.

Patrons are encouraged to hold on to their tickets as all rescheduled dates will be announced within the coming days.

Saturday: Morrissey, the melancholic former frontman of The Smiths, was undergoing tests Saturday at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak.

"I can confirm that Morrissey was admitted to the William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan, last night where he is undergoing tests for a suspected bladder infection," publicist Lauren Papapietro told mlive.com Saturday afternoon.

She told mlive.com it is unclear when the English rocker, whose given name is Steven Morrissey, could be released.

His Thursday night concert in Flint was canceled and shows in Minneapolis and Chicago on Friday and Saturday also were postponed, according to eonline.com. Many of the shows on Morrissey's current tour were rescheduled from last year when he took time off to be with his ailing mother, the entertainment news website adds.

Morrissey is about as relevant as Tommy Tutone these days.

Lennon, Morrissey, Dylan, Simon & Garfunkel. The groundwork these men laid will continue to shape the musical landscape for decades to come. Tommy Tutone did have that fun ditty about that Jenny girl I recall. Good times.

I wish Mr. Morrissey well. I do not want to say anything bad about him, though Mr. Dagenham put me to the test.
