Do you hear what I hear? 

Christmas is just days away and the sounds of the season are in the air. Whether it's the ringing of the Salvation Army bell or door-to-door carolers, it's at least starting to sound a lot like Christmas.

To get in on the holiday spirit, Patch is creating playlists of Christmas music each day to help spread the cheer.

So here's the deal:

Each day, from today through Christmas, we'll feature a uniquely different, themed Christmas music playlist. Today's theme is Alternative Christmas, incorporating some holiday-themed highlights from the indie, folk and alternative rock scene to help our readers rock around the Christmas tree. You can listen here, free and legally (via Spotify), without leaving Patch! 

But we also want your input. Post in the comments what you'd like to see in future installments. The themes are as follows:

• Today: Alternative Christmas (newer rock/folk/indie/alternative Christmas songs, including new-school variations of old-school classics)
• Dec. 20: Pop Christmas (Top 40-style Christmas songs)
• Dec. 21: Gaudy/Obnoxious Christmas songs (Because even the musical equivalent of an ugly sweater deserves its day)
• Dec. 22: Country Christmas (Christmas selections with a tad of twang)
• Dec. 23: Hollywood Christmas (Songs you know from Christmas movies)
• Dec. 24: Traditional Christmas (The time-tested standards)
• Dec. 25: Children's Christmas (Singing rodents can apply within)
