Help Us Write a Visitor's Guide to Berkley and Huntington Woods

We love day trips, and we think our community would be a great destination, so please help us write a guide to share with other Patch sites in Michigan.

Quick: A long-lost friend is coming to the Berkley-Huntington Woods area and has asked you for some things-to-do and places-to-eat-and-shop suggestions.

What do you tell her?

We're writing a daytrip guide to Berkley and Huntington Woods for a summer series called Patch Passport. The other Patch sites in Michigan — from New Baltimore to Saline and two dozen in between — are doing the same.

Starting next weekend, we'll offer a weekly daytrip guide to another southeast Michigan town for you to visit. Bet you didn't know, for instance, about all of the unique, locally owned shops in St. Clair Shores. (The Whistle Stop Hobby Shop, for example, is a locally owned toy store with an elevated train track that runs, nonstop, the inside perimeter of the store.)

There are more gems to be discovered, too. But to start, we need to write our own day-trip guide to share with the other Patch sites.

Here's a thought-starter: Visit our Readers' Choice 2012 nominations page for ideas on where a visitor should visit.

So, it's time to share your must-list in Berkley and Huntington Woods: Where would you take a visitor to our towns? Share your suggestions in the comments area below.

I would definitely stop by KrisTea's on Coolidge for a wonderful selection of teas, vintage items (including beautiful vintage linens) and unique gifts. They serve free tea and scones daily while you shop!

You go Maureen! I was just going to mention the "Collection", but you beat me to it! Of course I am biased, but I think we are quickly becoming "the other 12 Mile" for shopping, not to mention money saving deals. Butterfly Bakery, the Book Corner and KrisTea's will give shoppers 10% off your purchase with a receipt from the other shops!

Amici's and the Living Room. Awesome pizza (gluten free crust available), nice atmosphere, great martini's. Kid friendly! Reasonably priced.

Yellow Door has great Michigan made stuff! If you like trinkets and crafts or are looking for a unique gift, it's a must see.
