The man was driving southbound on Woodward Avenue at 4:38 p.m. when he ran a red light at 11 Mile Road, according to a Huntington Woods Public Safety report. After being stopped, the driver handed the reporting officer his driver's license and a concealed pistol license; he said he was carrying a pistol and his vehicle was a rental, according to the incident report.
The driver told the officer he thought the light was yellow when he entered the intersection and did not see a pedestrian who was about to proceed across the cross-walk and quickly stopped as the driver ran the red light, the report said.
